Today is a grrrrrrREAT day!  I woke up smiling, knowing I am leaving work at noon, shopping, tanning and heading out east for a quasi-long weekend.  Can’t shake a stick at that, can ya?
The doctor has ordered:  dinner out tonight wearing something cute but cold-friendly, long walks in the unseasonal-warm-weather-sunshine tomorrow, Indian food (cooked light), home [...]

Mom’s biopsy results came back.  One lump was benign and the other is a pre-cancerous polyoma? which is apparently not likely to be cancerous but they are going to remove it just to be certain.  So, for now, I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Now that tax season is upon us, I’ve been giving some consideration to writing a letter to the IRS, asking for some of my money back.  My thought is, if you’re going to spend my money, it should be on things I agree to.
So:
The war in Iraq?  I want a 50% discount for that.  At [...]

This has happened to me before, so it seemed worth mentioning again.  Earlier this morning I heard a woman humming in the ladies room and had to stop myself from giggling (I didn’t recognize the tune), mostly because I cannot recall ever going pee and being struck by a sudden, uncontrollable urge to burst into song.  But [...]

The Other 50 Things

Quite some time ago, I posted an abridged version of a meme I got from, oh gosh, I can’t remember who, for “100 Things About Me.”  I was readng that version early last week and thinking how so many of those things were still true, but how some of them absolutely weren’t anymore.  So, I [...]

This has been an interesting week.  I’m meeting new women all the time, potential sister-friends who share similar interests and goals, women who are upbeat and positive and have crazy senses of humor… just like me!  Women who are writers or who love yoga or running or who parent “casually.”
Some of these meetings are serendipitous [...]

Can anyone tell me what part of me pushing a shopping cart through the grocery store says “Available.  And looking for loooooooove?”  Is it the jar of peanut butter that hints and some secret sex-pot agenda?  Could it be the loaf of bread, screaming to be sensually caressed?  Or is it simply because it’s 6pm on [...]

Today has been GORGEOUS!  The weather hit a balmy 70 degrees.  I stopped to have coffee with a woman who could easily become a very good friend on my way in to work this morning.  Everything is going my way.
So why is it I feel so… meh?
I can’t even summon up any girlie, crush-type emoting [...]

Yesterday at Starbucks, I had a serious discussion with my mom about the cancer.  Well, semi-serious.  I told her that she cannot succumb to this disease because she cannot (CAN NOT) leave me to take care of her devil cat, Daia, and my crazy grandmother (both of whom I suspect never really liked me much).
Sure, it’s [...]
