I filled up my gas-thrifty Honda today at lunchtime.  13.758 gallons of mid-grade fuel for….are you ready for this?…. $49.34.  Almost FIFTY BUCKS for not even 14 gallons of GAS???  Really???
Ya know, I’m about sick to death of the douchebags running this country not fixing what’s so PLAINLY broken.  And I’m about sick to death [...]

Chickens!

I have been feeling oh-so-very forlorn lately about living in town until my kids graduate.  Sad because I want to live out on my little farm but I promised the girls I wouldn’t do that to them (move them out to the middle of nowhere).  Anyway, I think I have come up with a mini-remedy [...]

Some Vacation Pictures

La toilette…  The outhouse I told you about, and yes I realize it needs some work.

Another view of the new-to-me outhouse.  I figure firm up the floor and frame, slap on a coat of paint, build a new bench seat and some windows and she’ll be as good as new!

We found this steel ring on [...]

When on my drive to work today, I started thinking that there are several places I would rather be than at my job.  And prison was actually in the top 3, so what does that say?  Maybe it’s time for me to look for a different position in my company, because what I’m doing now [...]

I’m on vacation next week.  And it is taking every single bit of self control I possess not to point my finger at people and yell, “HA!  I’m outta here and you’re not!  Losers!”  But with my spouse not working, I sorta need this job.
I’ll be doing lots of farm related work all [...]

In Riddles

He spoke to her in riddles,
Words like “ditto” and “dork” a cloak for gentler words.
They didn’t much matter,
The words,
Because her heart understood the words he wouldn’t say.
Her heart knew,
And that was enough.

A Blue Soul

A friend of mine writes some hellawicked poetry, and one today about knowing a blue soul is just SO beautiful to me.  I can’t even explain why, other than “it just IS.”  The first line, “I knew a blue soul” just speaks to me.  It’s one of those poems where you would have to read it [...]

Snow

I think winter has decided NOT to relinquish its hold on Colorado this year.  No sooner do we have a few 80 degree days in a row than we get another snow storm.  What’s up with that, I wonder?
Anyway, there is supposedly more of the white stuff in the forecast for the middle [...]
